SAVE THE ELEPHANTS, SAMBURU, KENYA

Save the Elephants (STE) was founded more than 20 years ago by the long time elephant researcher Iian Douglas-Hamilton. Save the Elephants is active in the research and monitoring of elephants, the protection of elephants together with wildlife departments, protected area managers and communities, to assist their efforts to defend elephants against ivory poachers and traffickers. STE assists in the Human Elephant Co-existence plans and generates awareness globally. More on STE here: www.savetheelephants.org

Together with Save the Elephants we support schools in the Samburu Region in Northern Kenya. We provide meals for approx. 120 children that use the dormitories on school compounds. By providing their daily meals we ensure that especially girls can continue their education without interruption. They are less likely to marry prematurely, fall pregnant or are made to stay at home.
