BIG LIFE FOUNDATION
AMBOSELI, KENYA
The Big Life Foundation was founded by Nick Brandt and Richard Bonham in 2010. Protecting over 1.6 million acres of wilderness in the Amboseli-Tsavo-Kilimanjaro ecosystem of East Africa, Big Life partners with local communities to protect nature for the benefit of all. Since its inception, Big Life has trained and employed more than 300 rangers, set up over 30 outposts, operates 13 Land Cruiser patrol vehicles, 3 tracker dogs, and 2 planes for aerial surveillance. Big Life is the only organization in East Africa with coordinated cross-border anti-poaching operations. Together with the Mellmann Foundation we support 40 children, especially girls in their education to ensure that they do not undergo FGM or are married prematurely. We also take on the education for further 6 children whose father was killed by elephants
